The Concertgebouw

The Concertgebouw is one of the best concert halls in the world, famous for its exceptional acoustics and varied programme. Attend a concert and have an experience you will never forget. Come and enjoy inspiring music in the beautiful surroundings of the Main Hall or the intimate Recital Hall.

Christian Thielemann and the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden

Christian Thielemann and his Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden have reached great heights over the past decade with performances of the core repertoire. In Amsterdam too, they will climb to the top: in the Alpine Symphony, or Eine Alpensinfonie by Richard Strauss, Thielemann guides the musicians with a steady hand through all the dangers in their adventurous climb up and back.

Janine Jansen plays Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto

Mendelssohn composed from his earliest childhood, achieving stunning results as an adolescent with the Midsummer Night Music and the Octet. His opus 64 - the only violin concerto of note between Beethoven's and Bruch's - dates from 1844, and it took the composer six years to complete. Janine Jansen excelled with this concerto at the very beginning of her career, and now adds to her brilliance a dose of life experience.
