Musical jack-of-all-trades Goran Bregović evolved from a rock star behind the Iron Curtain in the 1970s to the globally beloved "Emperor of the Balkans". With his Wedding and Funeral Band he invites everyone to dance with irresistible Balkan brass. This festive and energetic music for wind band from the Balkans lets us hear Bregović's characteristic composition style consisting of a mix of musical genres and seems to appeal to every person on earth, regardless of cultural background, gender, age or religion.

Goran Bregović and his Wedding and Funeral Band play songs from the successful album Three Letters from Sarajevo, a programme that combines Christian classical music, Jewish klezmer music and Muslim oriental music: three religions and three cultures from his hometown of Sarajevo that have shaped him as a person and musician.
For this standing concert, the chairs will be removed from the Main Hall. There are, however, a limited number of chairs available on the balcony.

This concert is part of the SummerConcerts in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In July and August you can enjoy beautiful classical concerts, swinging jazz and pop, and legendary film music. Are you feeling the summer vibes already?
