Elfia | Outdoor costume fantasy event at a Dutch castle

Elfia is an outdoor fantasy event where forest elves, muses, nymphs, druids and knights in shining armour convene twice a year. The philosophy is “you’ll never dream alone,” and that’s why Elfia invites you to join the elfin clan to celebrate this fantastical event together!

Spring 2024 edition of Elfia in Haarzuilens

The spring edition of Elfia takes place over two days at Castle De Haar in Haarzuilens outside Utrecht, which transforms into a magical kingdom.

Elfia typically welcoms around 25.000 visitors each year. This year has an impressive line-up at the historic castle grounds, from workshops to performances and from a costume parade to cosplay will welcome you dressed in your finest fairytale costume.

Workshops

Experience the feeling of weightlessness in a Soul Slinger, take part in archery lessons to be able to shoot arrows like your favourite fantasy character, or have a go at making your very own magic wand and magical spellbook - all this and more is on offer as part of Eflia's workshop programme!

Costume parade

One of the central events of Elfia is the costume parade. Have you been working avidly on your costume? Have you always wanted to unveil the most genial getup based on your favourite character? For anyone with an outfit to be proud of, this costume parade is for you. Take part and you could win prizes.

Live music

There will be live performances by John Kanaka & The Jack Tars, Datura, Roving Crows, and many more, providing visitors a mythical musical journey packed with Celtic melodies and poetic ballads.
