Cinderella, one of the most famous fairy tales of all time, whisks you away to a fantasy world at the Dutch National Ballet. This magical favourite will be guaranteed to put you in the mood for the holidays.

A special expat drink and a tour for IamExpat readers

The Dutch National Opera brings you a special expat event on December 20th. One hour before the curtains go up, you can get a complimentary drink at the IamExpat gathering on the first floor, especially for IamExpat readers. You will visit the ballet and experience an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour around the theatre in the first intermission. In the second intermission, you'll have a chance to discuss this beautiful ballet with other IamExpat readers.

To reserve your tickets, go to the website and make sure you enter the code "EXPAT" in the field marked "promotional code". When you select a seat please make sure to tick the box "IamExpat". Only with this code are you able to access the event. Get your tickets as soon as you can, because tickets are going fast.

Book your tickets online

Tickets to Cinderella are available on the Dutch National Opera website. Book your ballet tickets in advance before all the good seats are taken!

  • The tour and drinks will take place as long as there are enough participants.
  • IamExpat readers will be sitting together, so when you purchase your tickets, choose seats on the left side of the auditorium and click the "IamExpat" button.
  • If you attend another show, you will receive a free drink by showing your entrance ticket. Please make sure you still enter "EXPAT" in the "promotional code" field. Only then you will receive a free drink.

Magical ballet for all the family

The Dutch National Ballet brings Cinderella to life in a contemporary and filmic ballet spectacle. Expect an experience with a dash of magic, humour and awe-inspiring dance. A must-see for the whole family.

With Cinderella, choreographer Christopher Wheeldon won the prestigious Prix Benois de la Danse, the "Oscar of dance". Julian Crouch created the enchanting sets, fusing historical Victorian fashion with haute couture à la Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. The projections by multimedia artist Daniel Brodie add a cinematic dimension to complete the fairy tale experience.

If you cannot make it to the special expat drinks and tour on December 20, maybe you'd still like to attend the ballet another night: Cinderella runs from December 20, 2018 to January 1, 2019.
