DansClick's meet & greet format
Since 2006, Korzo productions has been using their meet and greet format to bridge the gap between audiences and various choreographers across the Netherlands. The process of organising DansClick begins with booking three choreographers in various stages of their careers; a beginner, a current star and a veteran.
In each city, a video made by the choreographers serves as an introduction to who they are and their work. Following each video is a performance by the choreographer highlighting their style or artistic practice that they are currently developing. After the performance the audience then joins the performers on stage for a drink where they are free to ask questions about the artists' work or discuss dance in general. This method of presentation and openness for questions allows even more casual audiences to engage with and better understand aspects of contemporary dance.
Choreographers for DansClick 16
For DansClick 16, Korzo has booked Jasper van Luijk, Joeri Dubbe and Lukáš Timulak. At the beginning of a promising career, Jasper van Luijk will be presenting his 2012 duet Previously Cited, which highlights his careful use of movement and aesthetic in his narrative performances.
Currently one of the most lauded names to arise from the Dutch dance scene, Joeri Dubbe began working with Korzo in 2009 after stints with the National Ballet and Nederlands Dans Theater II. For DansClick 16, he will be premiering Kitsune, a performance that examines how rituals affect group dynamics.
Rounding out the line-up is veteran dancer Lukáš Timulak. After being a lead dancer for the Nederlands Dans Theater for ten years, Timulak began exploring the more playful side of choreography. At DansClick 16 he will present A Game, which vividly portrays the new direction his work has taken.
Please note: Ticket competition winners are announced on the closing date. There will be 2 winners for both Leiden & Maastricht and 1 winner for Amsterdam. Remember to check this page or your IamExpat inbox to see if you've been selected!
