Expat parents: How to help your children settle abroad

The HSBC Expat Explorer survey interviewed thousands of expat parents about raising a family abroad.

Whilst 87 percent believe their children’s lives have been improved, they believe their children still find it hard to feel at home.

This was based on many factors including lack of outdoor space, learning two languages at once, finding a new school, and coping with change.

The greatest challenges experienced were missing friends and family, adapting to a new culture, and settling into a new school whilst learning a new language

HSBC interviewed child psychologist Kate Berger about the best strategies to use to help your child settle in.
