Grow and protect your wealth while living abroad

By now, most Americans living overseas know the implications of FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act), which obligates taxpayers to report their non-US financial accounts and assets to the US Internal Revenue Service.

For some a headache, to others a nuisance, but the fact is FATCA is here, and FATCA is here to stay.

Opportunities Americans might not be aware of

With taxes to report in – at least – two countries, American expats and US connected individuals are looking for ways to enhance their wealth management strategies. After all, there are opportunities they might not be aware of, which could help grow and protect their wealth, while they live abroad.

Beacon Financial Education always recommends expats to take – or keep – control of their financial well-being and to bring their wealth management strategy to the next level.

An important step is to further educate themselves, and to regularly re-evaluate their wealth management and lifestyle planning, as well as their financial advisors.

Improve your financial knowledge

This Spring, BFE will host a few more financial awareness seminars in the Netherlands to inform those who want to further grow their wealth, (re)evaluate their lifestyle and retirement plans and are looking to expand their investment portfolio.

  • Does your (Dutch) financial advisor know the implications of you being a US expat?
  • Are you aware of which investment products are available to US connected persons in the Netherlands?
  • What could it imply if your financial advisor has put your money into the wrong investment vehicles?
  • Why is investment diversification so important and how can an investment portfolio help you offset your tax liabilities?
  • And why is a regular re-evaluation of your portfolio so crucial?

These are just a few of the subjects and questions that will be discussed during BFE’s events.
