International Account Manager - Retail (Germany)

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Draw up and monitor account/sales plans for the market (incl. competitors/market & economic developments).
  • Develop and continue an assigned market sector (geographically determined), including maintaining and developing accounts/sales (current accounts, leads and prospects) by keeping up the range of products and regular customer visits / participating in fairs.
  • Execute and follow up the sales process:
  • Send offer (formulate calculations, constantly inform customer)
  • Close contract (negotiate prices within set range)
  • Execute contract (closely work with colleagues to follow up on the process)
  • Formulate and monitor reliable sales forecasts (including collection of necessary information).
  • Take a lead in the NPD execution following the internal set process.
  • Contribute accurate figures for budget.
  • Analyse current and competitive products and development of new products.
  • Extract relevant marketing information on our products and forward this to customers.
  • Visit clients and report back internally.


Essential Criteria

  • Have higher vocational education, preferably business administration; higher vocational/academic level of working and thought 
  • Have about 2-5 years work experience within FMCG, of which at least 2 years in a similar position, preferably with food products
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (must) and SAP (preferably)
  • Have experience with Key Account/Sales Management activities
  • Have experience within an internationally (in a number of European countries) operating organization; preferably experience within an English business culture
  • Positive attitude, energy to work and drive business with other departments
  • Result- and solution-oriented attitude
  • Have the commercial instinct to always be looking for opportunities
  • Be flexible to work in an ever changing environment
  • Capable of working on one’s own and in teams
  • Be willing to travel abroad when needed
  • Excellent mastery in English and German (verbal and written).
