Volunteer Position- Research Intern

Description:

Stichting Centre for African Justice, Peace and Human Rights is currently recruiting Legal Research Interns to commence a full-time or Part Time internship for a period of three months, with the possibility of a three months extension. 
This internship will require substantial legal research and analysis relating to prosecuting sexual violence against the male gender in domestic jurisdictions located in Africa. 
Applicants must hold, or be studying towards, an undergraduate or a postgraduate degree in or related to Law, Criminal law, Human Rights or Gender Studies. Applicants must be comfortable with analyzing and synthesizing complex legal information on sexual violence, legal developments in international criminal law and domestic criminal law. 
Applications will be accepted and treated on a rolling basis; applicants are therefore, advised to apply at their earliest convenience.

Requirements:

The Intern will assist the Foundation with researching, drafting, analyzing and editing of legal texts, statutes, articles and reports related to sexual violence perpetrated against the male gender in selected African countries. The Intern will support the work of the Foundation in developing a database and organizing conferences. 
The Intern will assist the Foundation in maintaining relationships and communicating with Funding partners for sexual violence projects and other stakeholders. 

The Intern may be called upon to assist in developing funding proposals, policy proposals and other communications materials (e.g. newsletters, opinion-editorials and blog posts, case analysis and policy briefings.) The intern may from time to time, suggest ways of sharing our research findings on sexual violence with diverse partners and other Foundations working on sexual violence within Europe and Africa. 
When necessary, the intern will be invited to meetings and events and his/her contributions will be acknowledged in publications.

Applicants must hold, or be studying towards, an undergraduate or a postgraduate degree in or related to Law, Criminal law, Human Rights or Gender Studies.
