Are you an enthusiastic finance professional who wants to create a positive impact through travelling as a world citizen? As a Finance Specialist in the Accounting department at Eurail, you'll play an essential role in ensuring our financial integrity and supporting the rest of the organization to provide unforgettable travel experiences to our customers.
We are looking for someone motivated and excited about finance, willing to work approximately 24-32 hours per week. You enjoy hard work, but also enjoy working with your team to reach the team's goals. You actively contribute ideas on how processes can be improved and how we can better support the organization. Also, it's good to know that team has agreed to meet in the office every Monday and Thursday, therefore you will be expected to be in the office on these days to work side by side with your colleagues.
What you’ll be doing
As a Finance Specialist at Eurail, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations. You'll be part of the Accounting team along with three other colleagues and report directly to the Head of Accounting. Within the team, we ensure everyone has a challenging task package that aligns with your experience and interests, and each team member serves as a backup for another. Given the substantial growth of our business and the resulting increased workload in Accounting, we're seeking someone to support the team.
Responsibilities can include:
- Performing daily accounting tasks, such as processing incoming invoices, payments and expense claims
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable administration
- Contributing to monthly and yearly closing processes
- Assisting in preparing financial reports and analyses
- Staying informed and making sure we adhere to legal and internal financial guidelines and policies
- Participating in projects to improve financial processes and systems.
What we’re looking for

In terms of your experience and skills:
- Minimum of a completed financial MBO education, such as business administration or a practical Accounting diploma
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in a financial role within a company based in the Netherlands
- Good knowledge of (Dutch) accounting principles and financial reporting
- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
- Analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data
- Experience and affinity with automation and optimisation of financial processes
- Experience with implementing financial software tools
- Advanced Excel skills
- You appreciate a casual company atmosphere, are outgoing, and adapt well to different situations
- Team player with good communication skills
- Proficient in English & Dutch language (both oral & written)
