Simbeyond is looking for a talented software engineer with a passion for high-performance computing, and affinity with physics and simulations to strengthen our young and dynamic team in Eindhoven. The job involves the following responsibilities:

  • Writing and improving high-performance scientific simulation software

  • Collaborating with our device physicists to implement new features

  • Engage in direct interaction with users to understand and formalize requirements

  • Developing scripts and user interfaces to optimize the user’s workflow

  • Supporting the other team members with your software engineering skills and insights

  • Coordinating and extending the integration of the web-based user interface and the C++ simulation code

  • Acceleration of existing code e.g. via GPU computing

  • Shaping our devops and continuous delivery/deployment workflow


The ideal candidate has a HTS/BSc or higher degree in Computer Science or a similar field and affinity with physics and simulations. Flexibility, excellent organizational and communication skills are required, as well as a mindset for quality and good problem solving skills. The candidate should be fluent in English, both in written and verbal form.


  • Proficient in modern C++ (C++11, C++14)

  • Familiar with Git version control and CMake build system

  • Experience with high performance/scientific computing

  • Experience with using automated testing frameworks and benchmarking

  • Familiar with Bash and UNIX/Linux in general

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and Python is a plus

  • Experience with cloud computing and the Amazon Web Services API is a plus

  • Accustomed to OpenGL and GPU programming (OpenCL/CUDA) is a plus
