Mata Hari "renovated"
The Mata Hari monument in Amsterdam's Red Light District has been renovated and reopened on March 2.
During the 70s, the monument, which has been the main subject of several crime novels, was known as the "notorious gambling house Mata Hari" a place frequently visited by the police.
The restoration includes a restaurant, an office space and rental apartments.
Mata Hari was the stage name of a Dutch exotic dancer and courtesan who was accused for being a German spy during World War I and, even though possibly innocent, eventually executed in France.
