[August 2011] House prices down again

The price index of existing residential properties reveals that prices of owner-occupied houses in the Netherlands were on average 2,8 percent lower in August 2011 than one year previously.

› Prices declined by 0,7 percent relative to July 2011
› All types of dwellings were cheaper than in August 2010

The price index of existing residential property is a joint publication by Statistics Netherlands and the Land Registry Office.

Note that property transfer tax is reduced to 2% since June 15, 2011.
