[August 2011] House prices down again

The price index of existing residential properties reveals that prices of owner-occupied houses in the Netherlands were on average 2,8 percent lower in August 2011 than one year previously.

 Around 10.000 houses "changed hands" in August 2011, 4 percent fewer than one year ago

 Prices declined by 0,7 percent relative to July 2011
 All types of dwellings were cheaper than in August 2010
 Residential property prices declined most in Limburg and Gelderland
 Residential property prices increased only in Zeeland

The price index of existing residential property is a joint publication by Statistics Netherlands and the Land Registry Office.
