Language courses at UvA Talen

Are you in Amsterdam and wanting to improve your language skills?

Here is your chance! UvA Talen offers a wide range of lively group courses in Dutch, English and eight other languages. During these courses participants can improve their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. You will systematically and rapidly build up your vocabulary and gain additional practical knowledge of grammar. 

UvA Talen uses high-quality, accredited teaching materials that are carefully selected based on many years of experience.

Bringing language to life – UvA Talen inTense!

In addition to the regular training programme, UvA Talen organises tailor-made courses designed to suit your specific needs - and schedule! The UvA Talen inTense programme, for example, offers "full immersion" courses that are very popular with people who wish to improve their language skills quickly.

In these highly intensive programmes, you’ll learn a language in a dynamic, practical and playful way. From breakfast until the end of the day's programme, you are effortlessly immersed in the language that you wish to learn. In this way, you can reach a high level in a short time and develop thorough, practical skills in your chosen language.

Of course you don't spend the whole day in the classroom. Each day, the schedule includes one or more study-related excursions to the many wonderful attractions that the lively city of Amsterdam has to offer!

About UvA Talen

Each year, over 1.500 students complete one or more courses at UvA Talen and earn a certificate for an internationally recognised language level.

UvA Talen is the independent language centre of the University of Amsterdam, serving expats from around the world.

UvA Talen provides a wide range of courses in Dutch and other languages for companies and individuals of all levels. 

All courses are designed for motivated, fast-learning students. The course material is dealt with at a fairly high pace.

Groups are small so optimal interaction with the instructor is guaranteed, enabling you to significantly improve your language proficiency in a very short time.
