One of the highlights for the summer of 2014 is Rigoletto.
Performed by the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the performance has Dmitri Hvorostovsky singing the title role in director Michael Mayer's adaptation of Verdi's masterpiece.
A story set in 1960s Las Vegas, the antics of the Rat Pack serve as inspiration for this timeless tale of the conflict between corruption and innocence.
Piotr Beczala plays the womanising Duke of Mantua, Željko Lučić assumes the tragic role of his sidekick Rigoletto while Diana Damrau takes on the role of Rigoletto's daughter and eventual victim.
