Holland Dance Festival 2014Festivals / The Hague
25 January 2014 - 16 February, Various times
The largest of its kind in the Netherlands, the Holland Dance Festival in The Hague is a three week long initiative featuring top acts from the international dance scene.
Not limited to any one type or style of dance, the festival offers a platform for a variety of contemporary artists to showcase their traditional training, modern takes and new fusions of the many approaches to dance.
Since its founding, the goal of the Holland Dance Festival has been to provide an international stage for both famed dance companies and for individual performers. This edition in particular focuses on choreographers who base their creations on their cultural background and the associated customs/traditions.
The resulting synergy of bringing these groups together is a dynamic mixing that contributes to constructive debates and critical discussions on both performance and the nature of dance.
