Crossing Border Festival 2013Festivals / The Hague
November 14-16, Various times, see website
For one weekend in November, The Hague is taken over by writers, poets, musicians and artists.
Crossing Border Festival has been running since 1993 and is now one of Europe’s most important literature and music festivals.
This annual festival features interdisciplinary and international performances, with an emphasis on spoken word and music. The Crossing Border Festival attracts many big names in literature and music from across the world, but its programme also promotes young, unknown talents.
Performances during the Crossing Border Festival push the boundaries of art by demonstrating how literature and music can be combined in new ways with other disciplines.
Due to the high volume of shows, performances take place across multiple stages simultaneously.
