Brighten up your winter with a visit to China Light Rotterdam, the largest light spectacle in Europe, filled with dazzling illuminated figures!
This unique celebration brings over 40 Chinese artists to Holland to create a magical, fairy-tale paradise including dozens of large lantern sculptures, laser shows plus dance and musical performances.
The tradtion of lighting lanterns began centuries ago. On the 15th day of the first month in the Chinese calendar people lit fireworks and lanterns to pray for a good harvest.
Illuminated, moving figures including flowers, animals, and a 100-metre-long dragon are just a few of the more than 35 enchanting light displays to be seen. Artists have even created and a large Temple of Heaven for this vibrant festival of lights.
Aside from viewing the brightly coloured figures, live performances and activities for children, visitors can also warm up with drinks and snacks at this family friendly event.
