For nearly six months, Rotterdam’s Museum Boijmans van Beuningen will feature a special series of etchings by Spanish painter Francisco Goya (1746 - 1828).

"Disasters of War" includes 80 etchings printed from original copper plates made by Goya between 1810 - 1820.

The series showcase commentary on the Peninsular War (1808 - 1814) and the army's mistreatment of Spanish civilians, a dangerous stance to take during Goya’s time.

Goya’s "Disaster of War" has served as an inspiration for many other artists, including Norwegian artist Pushwagner whose series Pushwagner: Soft City will also be on display at the museum this spring.
