26 August 2014 - 06 September 2014, Various times
The Zeeland Nazomerfestival returns to the historic town of Middelburg to present theatre premiers, fan-favourites, concerts and dance performances in characteristic locations!
Zeeland Nazomerfestival's special locations
Taking place 2001, Zeeland Nazomerfestival has developed a reputation for organising high quality artistic programming in unique locations as a way to take advantage of the last of the summer weather.
Along with their own productions from Theaterproductiehuis Zeelandia, they also invite various theatre companies, bands and dance troupes from around the Netherlands and Belgium.
Although the bulk of the theatre productions are in Dutch or Flemish, there are plenty of dance and concerts that are billed as "language no problem."
An obvious highlight of the festival are which locations will be chosen and what sorts of production they will inspire and include the Middelburg Abbey, the Oostkerk, pump-station Dishoek and the landscape of Kamperland.

Highlights of Zeeland Nazomerfestival
› Droogland. This tragic and poetic performance examines the suppressed pains and desires encountered by a half-goat, half-human couple.
› De Zwarte Walcheren. An in-house production, the story details the experience of a black child being born to a white family, yet highlights larger themes of difference and diversity in contemporary society.
› Aards Paradijs. A gem by Tennessee Williams, the play will take place in the beautiful Kamperland and relates a tale of eroticism, hate, jealousy and betrayal.
› ROCCO. This dance performance is packed with emotion, quick footwork and virtuous tactics that pairs a team of talented dancers in a face-off that can only be described as intense.
› Concerts. Including performances by BLØF, Kensington, Happy Camper, and The Kik.
