Harbour Festival IJmuiden 2014Festivals / Other
30 August 2014, 12pm-12am
Set in the former industrial terrain of IJmuiden, the Harbour Festival is an innovative initiative to encourage visitors to discover the beauty to be found along the port among ships and historic buildings.
A fishing harbour, IJmuiden is the fourth largest port in the Netherlands and full of an interesting mix of shipping, personal, transport and fishing boats and barges.
During the festival, the grounds are turned into a large cultural fair nestled between the boats and buildings, with a variety of concerts, amateur artists, street performers, light shows and (sea)food.

Along with Carribbean bands and Shanty choirs, curious visitors will be able to explore and learn more about the history of IJmuiden in an engaging manner.
With more than 15.000 visitors in 2013, the festival is set to be a hit again and the best part is it's all free!
