Roze Filmdagen 2014Festivals / Amsterdam
March 13-23, Various
Come and see some of the best of LGBT-themed films during the 17th edition of the Roze Filmdagen in Amsterdam!
The Roze Filmdagen, Amsterdam’s Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, returns to the Ketelhuis and MC Theater with a full line-up of new and compelling screenings.
Since 1996, the Roze Filmdagen has been organised by Stichting Pink Media in order to give documentaries, shorts and films focusing on gay, lesbian, transgendered, intersex and transvestite themes more exposure than typically offered by mainstream cinema.
Now in its 17th edition, the Roze Filmdagen continues to break stereotypes and confront taboo subjects by showcasing stories about an array of popular and marginal topics within the LGBT community, including love, oppression, fetish communities, culturally based discrimination, legislative issues, identity conflicts and success stories, amongst others.
The week has expanded into an event that mixes the beauty of cinema with a social programme for the LGBT community and friends.
For the 2014 edition, there will be a total 118 films from 38 countries.
