Buddhist principles in film
Already in their 9th edition, the BFFE looks to introduce diverse audiences to the principles, traditions and beliefs of Buddhism through cinematic works focused on or inspired by the religion.
With an emphasis on Tibet and both the historical and contemporary influence of Buddhism, audiences should expect a mix of entertainment and education in the films shown.
Also of interest to BFFE is to give attention to the diversity of the rapidly growing Buddhist community in terms of ethnicity, race and nationality.
The theme of the 2014 edition is "Bardo - Transformation" which explores the role of the journey and subsequent change that encompasses physical, mental and spiritual capacities.
