Félix Vallotton, 'Fire Beneath the Ice'Exhibitions / Amsterdam
14 February 2014 - 01 June, 9am - 5/6pm
Félix Vallotton (1865-1925) was a member of the avant-garde group, "Les Nabis" (the prophets).
This artistic group was heavily influenced by Gauguin and Japanese prints, among other things, and now the Van Gogh Museum will be displaying some of its most important pieces.
Vallotton's works are highly decorative and include paintings and paper prints. He is particularly famous for his black and white woodcut prints.
This exhibition features roughly 100 pieces of art from the Van Gogh Museum’s private collection and loaned pieces from the Musée d’Orsay and the Kunsthaus Zurich.
Following its residence in the Netherlands, the exhibition will be touring to Tokyo.
