Het Nationale Ballet performs 'Cinderella'
Dance / Amsterdam13 December - 01 January, 2pm and 8.15pm
This winter, the Dutch National Ballet releases their world premiere of the classic story "Cinderella" in a co-production with the San Francisco ballet.
Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon brings depth to the characters, portraying Cinderella as more than a victim, and giving the prince a more central role.
In this modern rendition, Cinderella’s tears grow into a giant, magical tree.

Adding to the modern adaptation, four spirits have replaced the traditional "fairy godmother" character to grant Cinderella her wishes.
Award winning British set designer Julian Crouch has devised spectacular stage effects, giving a 21st century twist to the age-old fairy tale.
