Topic: French bakery in Amsterdam

Recently i found a very nice french bakery in Olympiaplein 119, called "Le Fournil de Sebastian" (http://www.lefournil.nl). There, you can find delicious french baguettes, doughnuts and amazing sweets & cakes!

Do you know more french grocery shops?

Re: French bakery in Amsterdam

Hi Nikos,
I do not know about a store with French groceries in Amsterdam but I do not know of a great French baker in The Hague. He is traiteur too.

Michel (name of bakery)

Jan van der Heijdenstraat 31
2522 EL Den Haag

Tuesday till Friday: 7h to 18h30
Saturday  7h to 16h30
Sunday 7h à 13h30

Oude molstraat 17
2513 BB Den Haag
:
Tuesday till Friday: 8h30 à 18h30
Saturday 8h30 till 17h
Sunday 8h30 à 13h30

There is a new shipping company where you can order genuine French products to the Netherlands but instructions are  all in French http://www.lafranceadomicile.com

Le fournil (The one that you recommended) has an excellent reputation among French expats in The Netherlands. I know that quite a few French people dream of such a bakery closer to them! Ah baguettes and croissants, pastries once in a while...

Let me know if you do find one, I will know to check it out next time I come to Amsterdam!

Thanks Lucie!!

I might go to den Haag soon, so I will definitely pass by the bakery you suggest.

I also crave for hot just-baked baguettes and croissants once in a while smile

Re: French bakery in Amsterdam

Hi the location at Jan van der Heijdenstraat 31 is the one with the largest selection and where everything is prepared thus very fresh
It is not far from the tram 1 stop broekslot at the limit of Rijswijk and The Hague, quite a plain residential area.
Their baguette tradition, lemon tarts, almond croissants are my personal favorites but they have much more than that!
Have a good day
Lucie

Le fournil is also in Hilversum. I love good bakery and when i was studying in VU my friends and myself we often walk to the bakery to buy baguettes, cakes and madeleines. If only there are more such good bakeries in Amsterdam.

Allo!

A very interesting one is la Baguetterie

Though not a visiting place, is a catering service that specializes in lunches for businesses and organizations located in Greater Amsterdam.

"Our name says it all – we use freshly baked artisan French bread to prepare carefully balanced, delicious meals, which also include fresh soups and juices."
