Banking
What do I need?
Take a valid proof of identity (not a driving license) and your BSN and visit the nearest and / or preferred Dutch bank. As always, it might be necessary to arrange an appointment beforehand.
Be sure to apply for Internet banking services as this is the most convenient and cost-effective way to make transactions.
You will be provided with an "e.dentifier" that allows you to access your account from your personal computer and make your transactions online.
Related costs
In general, there are no transactional costs either for money transfer or ATM withdrawal. However, you have to pay a standard amount (around two euros) per month for keeping you account active.
Concerning money transfer (remittance) from abroad, Dutch banks charge either a few euros or nothing. However, you should be careful with the arrangement of the transactional terms, and consult both your Dutch and national bank.
