The latest project by the renowned Studio Roosegaarde proves that even giant wind turbines can be a high-tech canvas for an impressive work of light art.

Windlicht shows the beauty of green energy by connecting windmill blades with beams of light across the Dutch landscape. The display creates a dynamic play of light and movement over a large distance.

Special software and tracking technology detect the windmill blades rotating at 280 kilometres per hour. Technical descriptions, no matter how impressive, don’t do this display justice. Check out the video below, or see it in person!

Windlicht can be experienced for free, at a new date that is yet to be determined, at the Eneco wind farm at St. Annaland in Zeeland. Visitors are advised to wear sturdy footwear and warm clothes. The location is near the intersection Molendijk/Annevosdijkseweg in St. Annaland, Zeeland. You can probably experience the artwork in the immediate vicinity as well.
